Well Done ATLAS!

First established in 1962 as a record library in Market Street, ATLAS has evolved into the stalwart of the audio and visual industry in Singapore today. The founder of the company, the late Mr A B Tien, branched out from the record library business into offering advice for sound systems, and eventually to providing premium equipment for quality sound. With his passing in August 2003, his son Michael Tien took over the helm of the business which carry premium audio brand such as BOSE.

Driven by a passionate and intricate knowledge of the industry, the business continued to thrive under the new stewardship and ATLAS expanded into the heartlands. Today, it asserts its presence with several retail stores conveniently located around Singapore. Not only does ATLAS offer audio visual entertainment to homes, it provides premium audio visual solutions to businesses – institutions, houses of worship, offices, restaurants, places of attraction and even spas.

With a finger on the pulse of the audio visual industry, ATLAS consistently revolutionizes its business strategies in response to the dynamic market conditions. Despite that, its basic principle remains – to advance its leadership in providing quality sound and vision by creating extraordinary and lasting experiences for customers.

Ok, the above paragraph is copied from their website. But I would love to share experience regarding ATLAS brand. I went to their flagship store at Millenia Walk last Sat while window shopping during GSS period (I bought another car load of Zara clothes! Hee ha). The retail location is quite a find and relative quiet with little traffic flow. I was thinking initially, it might be a bad sign. But once I push the door in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly “hi” by the manager on duty. The space was spacious with 4 segmented rooms. Instead of “telling” me the product features like many other retailers, she asked whether I have 10 mins to enjoy a mini movie? I was ushered into a comfy screening room together with a couple in their mid 40s to enjoy the mini movie. The next 10 mins was the best sales pitch I had experienced which engaged my visual and audio senses fully. Interesting, they used video and audio samples such as country and classic music because they understood their target market: mid 40s with spare cash and want quality audio and visual experience.

After the presentation, the manager has a friendly conversation with us and I was impressed when she replied after hearding that the couple bought a BOSE system many years back and claimed that it was still working well, “Oh I am so happy that you enjoy our system. Please keep it and do let me know how can I support you in the future…” Now, there is no hard sell. With full INTENTION of having the client’s interest as top priority. This is what I call, Brand Experience. That personal touch as a friend and protector that made me feel secure and I could trust her within that 5 minutes. In fact, she even taught me how to save more money if I am interested in getting BOSE system.

I urge you to experience this Brand, ATLAS if you are looking to have an awesome audio and visual experience at home.
